The results of the 2015 class 6 city-wide examination have been announced.
Addis Ababa, July 25, 2015 (Education Bureau) For the first time in 28 years and at the national level, the result of the city-wide 6th grade exit exam, which was given only by the Addis Ababa city administration, was announced today. Media experts gave a statement.
In his statement, the head pointed out that 73,667 students took the exam this year and it was decided to transfer regular students who scored 50% and above to the 7th grade.
In Addis Ababa city administration, 80.2% of the students who took the exam this year passed with a score of 50 percent and above, Dr. Zelema explained. Out of the 67,939 day students, 56,842 or 83.6% passed the exam and moved on to the next level of education.
Dr. Zelayam explained that the office has been carrying out various activities to make the 6th grade exam students successful by coordinating various stakeholders, mainly by providing tutoring and model exams based on the new curriculum, by establishing a better exam preparation and management system. Also, the teachers and educational leaders announced that the proper performance of their responsibility to qualify students has enabled the students to achieve encouraging results.
From the 2016 school year onwards, students studying in international schools that do not implement the country’s curriculum will not be able to take the 12th grade exam, including the 6th and 8th grade exit, the official said.
