Yesterday, the state-owned telecom provider Ethio Telecom and the National Lottery Administration (NLA) inked a deal to start Admas, a digital lottery.
During yesterday’s signing event, Ethio telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamiru said that the company is working hard to realize the aim of digitalizing Ethiopia.
According to her, the establishment of a digital lottery through telebirr and short SMS services is part of Ethio Telecom’s efforts to encourage the digitalization of services. As a result, the arrangement will significantly benefit the NLA by lowering printing costs, improving accessibility, and saving time.
She also said that Ethio Telecom would continue to collaborate with other public and commercial organizations to further the country’s digitalization path. According to NLA Director General Geremew Garje, the arrangement would enable the organization modernize its services and boost its consumer base. As a result, the lottery service is projected to be entirely digitalized in the future to expedite transactions.
